Knicks reportedly hire Michelle Obama's brother for front office role

The latest move made to try and get the franchise heading in a positive direction is the hiring of Craig Robinson away from the Milwaukee Bucks. He was a vice president with the Milwaukee Bucks a year ago season.

It's the next step in the Knicks' attempt to move past former team prez Phil Jackson. who was sacked in June. Steve Mills is the team's new president and Scott Perry is the general manager.

The New York Knicks have reportedly hired former Oregon State basketball coach Craig Robinson, the brother of former first lady Michelle Obama, to a front office position.

Shams Charania of The Vertical reports Robinson's roles will include "player development and serving as general manager of the Knicks' development league team in Westchester".

Robinson and Mills were teammates at Princeton, where they played for the legendary Pete Carril.

That combination of coaching and front office experience is consistent with what NY has been searching for this offseason.

Gone are the days of the big splash or bust New York Knicks.

As a head coach, Robinson had a career record of 122-128 during his time at Chicago Lab School (1999-2000), Brown (2006-2008) and Oregon State (2008-2014).
