Never proposed Ayesha Gulalai for marriage: Naeem-ul-Haque

Member of National Assembly (MNA) and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ayesha Gulalai has said that she will forgive PTI Chairman Imran Khan if he accepts his mistake and apologises for sending her unsolicited text messages that she says caused her considerable mental distress.

The resolution read, "Imran Khan behaved immorally with member National Assembly Ayesha Gulalai and the fearless people of our tribal areas which damaged the respect of the people of this province".

Speaking on the matter, Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi said it affected the integrity of the house and the issue of harassment should be taken seriously.

On Friday, Parliament passed a motion to constitute an inquiry committee of the House to hold an in-camera probe into Gulalai's allegations.

In a televised press conference earlier this week Gulalai accused Khan of harassing female leaders in the PTI and resigned from the party.

"We have serious security concerns, therefore, security may be provided immediately", she said.

Chairman, Imran Khan claimed that Ayesha Gulalai has been used and bought by the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) on Thursday.

Khan's opponents have accused him of sexism, while his supporters have used social media to call for acid attacks on Gulalai for her allegations. "I was astonished to hear that". This time it was from the opposition party PML-N who filed petition against Imran, accusing him of getting foreign funding for the party. "Do your worst; stoop as low as you can; me & my struggle-hardened party will become ever stronger IA", Khan wrote on Twitter.

The tweets, it is believed, came in response to Ms Gulalai's claims in an interview to a private television channel that she had received marriage proposals from Mr Haque and the PTI chief.
