Woman charged with chasing US Rep. David Kustoff

Authorities didn't say if Wright attended the town hall or why she followed Kustoff, a first-term congressman who represents 15 counties in west Tennessee.

Deputies say the two had been at a town hall meeting on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin.

She was allegedly outraged over Kustoff's vote in support of the American Health Care Act.

"What she was saying was more cursing at the congressman and his aides", Sgt. Marty Plunk said.

A woman found herself behind bars after she followed a congressman from an agricultural meeting, according to Weakley County Sheriff's Department.

The car's occupants were afraid of being forced off the road as a result of Wright's actions, a Weakley County Sheriff's Department release reportedly said. She then got out of her auto and "began screaming and striking the windows", reached inside the vehicle, and stood in front of it to block its path. Eyewitnesses said there was a "lot of cursing" but that they "couldn't understand a lot of what she was saying".

She allegedly blocked his vehicle until police were called.

Kustoff earlier this month voted to repeal and replace Obamacare.

"I voted for the American Health Care Act because our current health care system is failing Tennesseans", he wrote in the May 4 statement, the day the House of Representatives passed the bill.

"A protest is one thing", Plunk said.

Authorities were able to identify Wright from a post on her Facebook account about the incident, WBBJ reported.

Wright and Kustoff did not immediately return calls for comment.

Wright is being charged with reckless endangerment, a felony, and was released on $1,000 bail, cops said.

Kustoff's office declined to speak about the incident.
