WWE Backlash 2017: Matches & Predictions

In a few more days, Breezango will try to get their hands on the illustrious Smackdown tag team championship when they face The Usos at Backlash.

Baron Corbin stepped in the ring and was ambushed by Sami Zayn. But Bleacher Report speculates that Orton will still come out on top after the brawl, especially since Mahal is not a big enough name yet to claim the title.

Perhaps the most worthless match WWE has put on television in a while, particularly since Harper is a better worker and has some mic skills - he's a guy that needs as many wins as he can get and should go over.

After feeling the force of Shinsuke Nakamura's offense on SmackDown, Dolph Ziggler explains why he will walk out of Backlash victorious over The King of Strong Style. Randy Orton, AJ Styles and Sami Zayn via pinfall: Zayn's nose bled after a hard hit during the match. At first, Charlotte and Naomi were the ones beefing with each other. KO said as he won the United States Championship and retired Chris Jericho in their fight last week, the only thing people should care about was that he was the new face of America.

With an hour less time to fill and a leaner roster to work with, the blue brand remains the underdog that overachieves, and the build to May 21st's Backlash event seems determined to wash away the stains Payback left behind.

Breezango defeated The Ascension in a quick matchup to gain momentum for Backlash.

SmackDown's Fashion Police, Tyler Breeze & Fandango, look to close the case on The Ascension, only to receive a stern warning from The Usos ahead of WWE Backlash. The segment is interrupted by Kevin Owens.

SmackDown airs a video that Rusev posted on his Twitter account earlier today.

After the crowded opening segment, a tag team match was scheduled in true Teddy Long style. Owens just got the title back around his shoulder, so we just can't see him losing it so quickly.

-Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn vs. Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, and Baron Corbin. The distraction allowed Mahal to hit his finishing manoeuvre Cobra Clutch slam on Orton and pin him for the win.
