Theo Hernandez reportedly completes medical with Real Madrid

Liverpool target Theo Hernandez has reportedly passed a medical at Real Madrid.

Theo Hernandez has seen plenty of attention from the media in recent weeks, after enjoying a breakthrough season at Alaves.

Goal understands that the 19-year-old defender, who is now on loan at Alaves, underwent examinations on Monday ahead of a move to Zinedine Zidane's side.

He signed a long-term contract with Atletico, which has a release clause of £20m ($26m), before joining Alaves on loan.

Hernandez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, says that the final decision will lie in the player's own hands.

"Both are really interested, but we've not closed anything with either of them".

Foot Mercato quoted the agent saying: "The boy will decide where he wants to go".

Theo has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and French side Marseille.

He is on the books of Atletico but has never played for their first team.

In addition, the prospect of a move to Real could be dented by Atletico's reluctance to do business with their biggest rivals.

"There is no war with anyone", Atletico president Enrique Cerezo said recently after reports of a summer switch to Real, but he added this week: "If a player wants to leave, then let him play wherever he wants to".
