North Korea Accuses CIA Of Plotting To Assassinate Kim Jong Un

"Therefore, it is our determination to root up all the dens of plot and trick like Central Intelligence Agency and IS, the source of all evils in the world, and a series of more powerful our-style anti-terrorism striking actions will begin immediately", the ministry noted, calling the U.S. a "kingpin of terrorism and chieftain of plot".

North Korea has accused the usa and South Korean spy agencies of an unsuccessful assassination attempt against leader Kim Jong-un involving biochemical weapons.

North Korea charged that South Korea and the US had "corrupted and bribed" a North Korean logger in 2014 working in eastern Russian Federation, who had been infiltrated into North Korea to carry out the assassination attempt.

North Korea conducted an annual military parade, featuring a display of missiles and overseen by top leader Kim Jong Un and his right-hand men, on April 15.

Earlier this year, Kim's exiled half-brother was assassinated at a Malaysian airport in a similar fashion to that described by the security ministry.

On Thursday, a think tank report from inside the US Congress said that the US' controversial THAAD missile defense system that has begun to be deployed in South Korea may not be capable of actually intercepting North Korean nukes directed around the Korean Peninsula and toward Japan. The CIA declined to comment and South Korea has issued no statement so far.

The KCNA report claimed the plot was "recently uncovered and smashed", and accused members of the Central Intelligence Agency and IS of working with a North Korean citizen to provide money and weapons to carry out "state-sponsored terrorism".

The lengthy statement reserved some of its harshest language for the United States, which it called a "kingpin of terrorism" and "empire of evil" whose acts "surpass terrorism which is said to be perpetrated by "Islamic State" forces".

"We will ferret out and mercilessly destroy the last one the terrorists of the US CIA", the North's KCNA official news outlet reported.

Well, it turns out North Korea really believes that the US and South Korea have been working together to kill Kim by using biochemical weapons.

Pyongyang regularly accuses the USA and South Korea of attempting to destroy the regime, but Friday's claims were unusually specific and detailed.

North Korea, which has built a personality cult around the Kim clan, considers Kim Il Sung statues sacred.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Wednesday (local time) that Washington was working on more sanctions against North Korea if it takes steps that merit a new response.

An assassination of Kim Jong-un and other senior government officials in Pyongyang is reportedly part of Seoul's contingency plans for a possible major military confrontation between the two Koreas. It even offered to send North Korean relatives to the South to reunite with the workers, although Seoul rejected the highly unusual overture.

In a bid to cut off Pyongyang's access to hard currency, the measure sanctions persons or entities that import North Korean coal, iron or iron ore beyond UN-imposed limits, or that facilitate the regime's online business activities.
