'Dedicated' Joshua rejects holiday to return to training

Heading into the 12-round heavyweight contest on April 19 with the IBF, IBO and WBA world titles on the line, 27-year-old British boxer Anthony Joshua was the overwhelming favorite with the bookmakers because of his undeniable talent and surrounding hype.

However, the unbeaten Joshua recovered and hit Klitschko with a penultimate-round barrage that sent the 41-year-old to the deck twice more before the referee called a halt to an enthralling contest.

Tyson admitted he knew little about Joshua before the fight but insisted that he exhibited all the qualities necessary to be a long-serving champion.

The 28-year-old is now prohibited from fighting professionally in the United Kingdom but he jokingly told boxing website britishboxers.co.uk on Fridaythat he would make UKAD an "offer they can't refuse" ahead of the hearing.

"It was a great fight". They won't pay for it, they want the best and the best is Joshua.

"I like to entertain and if that's a fight that will bring entertainment to the sport again, then I would love to be involved", added Joshua, nicknamed "AJ". There's no quitting in him. Joshua apparently punched himself out and Klitschko capitalized by knocking him down with a right straight in the 6th stanza. And while the former "Baddest Man on the Planet" is a keen follower of the UFC - noting bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt as one of his favourite fighters to watch - he believes the balance of power is tipping back in boxing's favour.

"I've never been more confident or serious when I say something, I will play with Joshua like a cat with a ball of wool - hands behind my back, making a right mug of him". You're going to be financially challenged, scholastically challenged.

"I feel very normal and motivated because I am going to start training on Monday", he said in a Q&A session with Under Armour via Boxing News. That's what boxing is all about but most fighters just don't have that hunger.

Boxing superstar Deontay Wilder has a message for Anthony Joshua - LET'S DO THIS!

Elsewhere in the heavyweight division there isn't too much to get excited about according to Tyson, who hopes Joshua avoids facing WBC champion Deontay Wilder in a unification bout.

"He was an amateur back then but I could see a twinkle in his eyes and he looked great". "Hopefully we'll see a rematch, going by the first one".
