Motorola said to be working on an Android tablet with Productivity mode

Android Police doesn't offer any information about a possible release date, but just the fact that Motorola has a prototype of such a device is interesting in itself.

According to Android Police, which spoke to unnamed source, Motorola is making a new Android tablet. The slide shows that this tablet will have a productivity mode, which will allow for Android apps to be pinned on the navigation bar.

Motorola might soon surprise us all with a new Android tablet.

We praised the Moto Z Play for being a battery champion earlier this year. While most of the information in regards to the tablet is still unknown, we will update you once we get to know more. This mode seems to be a lot like what we've already seen on Lenovo's Yoga Book. To close an app, simply drag its icon upwards - this implies that if you don't, then apps will be kept in memory.

More news: Gloomy weather doesn't dampen spirits for Day of Prayer

If you're a Motorola fan and been holding onto that Xoom before updating, your wishes may be coming true with a new rumour emerging that Motorola is working on a new large screen tablet. "This integrates with the built-in productivity interface, which features a taskbar and instant app switching, support for multiple windows and optimization for mouse and keyboard operations".

The Moto Z2 Play will feature a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED display, according to a report from VentureBeat, which is the same as last year's model.

Color me excited, well, up until the curious "Productivity Mode" that shuffles Android's interface elements around to look a bit more like that of a desktop operating system, like Chrome OS. Tablets are mostly for consuming media, but if it delivers on being a premium device for productivity, it might garner enough attention from businesses and schools, as pointed out by Android Authority.
