The 2017 World Car of the Year is… the Jaguar F-Pace

The 2017 Jaguar F-PACE beat back the Bosh as the Brits overcame German challengers in the form of the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan.

The performance SUV was crowned overall World Car of the Year, and also picked up the World Car Design of the Year having impressed the panel of 75 motoring journalist from across the globe. "Winning these 2 awards backs the skill and great work of our groups that have provided the world's most practical sports auto and Jaguar's fastest selling vehicle", stated Dr Ralf Speth, CEO, Jaguar Land Rover. The Solihull-built F-PACE beat off stiff competition from the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and Toyota C-HR. "Winning these two awards endorses the talent and great work of our teams that have delivered the world's most practical sports auto and Jaguar's fastest selling vehicle".

On that last note, Dr Speth confirmed that the F-Pace has become the company's fastest selling vehicle. The XE sports saloon was a finalist for the 2016 World Car Design of the Year title. Some people thought that the automaker must not experiment with an SUV as it can only excel in exquisite luxury cars.

"The F‐Pace was developed and crafted as a performance SUV With extraordinary characteristics, everyday usability and vibrant design".
