The 2017 Jaguar F-PACE beat back the Bosh as the Brits overcame German challengers in the form of the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan.
The performance SUV was crowned overall World Car of the Year, and also picked up the World Car Design of the Year having impressed the panel of 75 motoring journalist from across the globe. "Winning these 2 awards backs the skill and great work of our groups that have provided the world's most practical sports auto and Jaguar's fastest selling vehicle", stated Dr Ralf Speth, CEO, Jaguar Land Rover. The Solihull-built F-PACE beat off stiff competition from the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and Toyota C-HR. "Winning these two awards endorses the talent and great work of our teams that have delivered the world's most practical sports auto and Jaguar's fastest selling vehicle".
On that last note, Dr Speth confirmed that the F-Pace has become the company's fastest selling vehicle. The XE sports saloon was a finalist for the 2016 World Car Design of the Year title. Some people thought that the automaker must not experiment with an SUV as it can only excel in exquisite luxury cars.

For the 5th time in 13 years, this award of World Performance Car of the Year went to a Porsche- the brand-new four-cylinder 718 Cayman, and the related Boxster.
The Jaguar F-Pace secures the 2017 World Car of the Year Award as Jaguar's first SUV also lands World Car Design of the Year at the New York Motor Show.
These awards are the first overall success for Jaguar at the World Car Awards. The lowest version of the Jaguar F-Pace starts at the price of $42,065. The F-Pace SUV has taken inspiration from the F-type, Jaguar's flagship supercar.
Engine options for the F-PACE range from the efficient and innovative four-cylinder 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel, with Carbon dioxide emissions as low as 126g/km* to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model that can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.5 seconds. The other engine option is diesel as well but with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine that develops 296bhp of power and a whopping 700Nm of torque.
