Westbrook only needs a total of six more assists (that's basically one per game) to join Oscar Robertson as the only two players in National Basketball Association history to average a triple-double in a season.
It marked the second straight game Westbrook failed to break the record as he remains stuck on 41 triple-doubles with Oscar Robertson who did it with the Cincinnati Royals in 1961-62.
Westbrook finished two assists shy of claiming a record 42nd triple-double of the season as he finished with 21-points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.
Russell Westbrook created his own piece of history on Friday when he became only the second player in National Basketball Association history to average a triple-double for the season.
Thunder: Oklahoma City is three games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 5 spot in the West.
October 28: 51 points, 10 assists and 13 rebounds.
