He was our friend and our leader - a truly creative spirit and an altruistic soul.

O'Neill is survived by his wife and their daughter in NY.

Fans especially loved the band's Christmas tours, which were heavy on guitar solos and heavier on special effects - similar to a Broadway Christmas pageant with a heavy metal soundtrack. He was talent manager David Leber (of Leber-Krebs) personal assistant, working with acts such as Aerosmith (he co-produced the Classics Live I and II albums), AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Def Leppard and many more.

He added, "The TSO can start a concert with a symphonic piece, with a regal, majestic orchestra, then cut into a rock song. the band has that much more edge following the symphony".

O'Neill was also known for his desire to keep ticket prices affordable and for charitable efforts.
