Google, traditionally one of the more active companies on April Fools' Day, has unveiled a new "feature" in the popular Google Maps app. Overall, the gameplay is the same and allows players to enjoy Ms. Pac-Man on their local streets just as long as theirs enough streets covering your area to play the game.
There is a banner in the lower-third of the screen advertising the game, which you can drag up and tap to play Ms Pac-Man.
Once the change happens, you can collect power pellets and run from ghosts up and down any street you want. For example, search "do a barrel roll" and the screen will do a 360-degree turn, in honor of the classic Nintendo series Star Fox.
Of course, in this version of the game, it's impossible to sort easily preict and memorize where to go and when ― because there's a virtually endless number of different maps to play on. Getting a head start on the fun, Google has placed Ms. Pac-Man on the Google Maps similar to what they did past year.More news: Bears wide receiver at trial: Aaron Hernandez is 'my guy'
We've seen this before, but it doesn't make it any less cool to see Ms. Pac-Man appear again.
It's Friday. You weren't going to be doing any real work today anyway, were you? It will all be familiar to anyone who has ever played a Pac-Man game.
Pac-Man, the arcade game, was first released in May 1980.
This isn't the first time Google Maps has hosted an arcade game.
