At a press conference in Lucknow, when infighting within the Samajwadi Party was at its peak, MP and close confidante of Mulayam Singh Yadav Amar Singh said: "One leader who can not even speak proper Hindi is projecting himself as a big neta and is calling the shots in Samajwadi Party. "We want to save the country from Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi". He said that there were no differences in the party, reported ANI. "Akhilesh will be the Chief Minister if the alliance wins", he told reporters in Parliament on Monday.
Akhilesh today addressed six election rallies in Sitapur as part of his vigorous campaigning in the state.

In a jibe at the Samajwadi Party's internal bickering during the past few months, The Prime Minister further stated, "Jo papa, chacha, mama mein hi phasa reh gaya wo pradesh pe kya dhyan dega". There was a feeling that if Mulayam starts talking against the alliance in the Yadav-dominated constituencies in central UP it will be a requiem for the tie-up. Both are contesting and giving a tough fight to the SP candidates.
Akhilesh listed the achievements of his government and said that more development will take place if the Samajwadi Party returns to power.
